About
We Read the Research So You Don't Have To
BioHackNZ was born from a simple frustration: the supplement industry is full of noise, and New Zealanders deserve better.
Too many supplement stores sell everything to everyone with bold claims and zero evidence. We wanted to build something different — a platform where every recommendation is grounded in published science, not marketing budgets.
The Person Behind BioHackNZ
Hi, I'm Wayne — the founder of BioHackNZ.
My background is in science (marine conservation), and I've always been drawn to evidence-based thinking. A few years ago, I fell down the longevity rabbit hole — reading research papers, listening to experts like Dr. Peter Attia, Dr. Andrew Huberman, Dr. Rhonda Patrick, and Dr. David Sinclair, and testing what the science actually supports.
I quickly realised that finding trustworthy, evidence-based supplement information in New Zealand was harder than it should be. Most sites were either trying to sell you everything or offering generic advice with no sources.
So I built BioHackNZ — the resource I wished existed when I started my own supplementation journey.
What We Do
We curate, not manufacture. BioHackNZ is not a supplement brand — we're an independent research and recommendation platform.
For every supplement on our site, we:
- Review the research — peer-reviewed studies, meta-analyses, and systematic reviews
- Rate the evidence — our 5-star system shows exactly how strong the science is
- Personalise recommendations — organised by who you are and what you're optimising for
- Source for NZ — every product is available in New Zealand
- Save you money — curated bundles so you don't overpay
