What it is & why it matters

This is a daily multi-strain probiotic — live bacteria in one capsule or sachet, taken consistently. Probiotic effects are strain-specific, so this page is for this product, not every probiotic on the market. The strongest adult evidence for probiotics as a group is reducing the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea when taken with a course of antibiotics. Some strain combinations may modestly support selected IBS-type symptoms. Everyday gut comfort in otherwise well people is possible but less certain. This is complementary support, not a treatment for infection, IBD or food poisoning.

Evidence rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Strong for prevention of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea (selected strains and doses); ⭐⭐⭐ Promising for selected IBS symptoms (strain-specific, often low-to-moderate certainty); ⭐⭐ to ⭐⭐⭐ for general gut support in healthy adults.

Simple Dosage (from research)

  • Take one daily serving as labelled. Many studied adult products use roughly 1–20+ billion CFU per day, depending on the strains.
  • If you are using it with antibiotics, start with the first antibiotic dose (or within 48 hours) and continue for a short period after the course.
  • Give it 2–4 weeks before judging everyday gut comfort. Stay on the same product rather than switching weekly.

Store as directed (some strains need refrigeration). People who are severely immunocompromised, critically ill, or have a central line should only use probiotics with medical advice.

Why this probiotic is useful for different people

Probiotics for Foundational Health

The cleanest everyday use is support around antibiotics, plus modest general gut comfort for some people. Probiotics do not reliably “reset” the microbiome to its pre-antibiotic state.

Probiotics for Women’s Health

IBS is more common in women. Some probiotic combinations have modest evidence for global IBS symptoms, pain or bloating — but certainty is often low and results depend on the strains used. This is adjunctive comfort support, not a diagnosis or a cure.

Probiotics for Healthy Ageing

Gut function can change with age, and older adults are more often prescribed antibiotics. A daily multi-strain probiotic may help in those settings. Evidence for a general “anti-ageing gut” effect is thin. Medical conditions and medications make extra caution important.
